Memory
What your agents remember about you — read, edit, add and delete every note.
Agents keep short notes about the person they talk to. Every note is yours to read, edit and delete. Open Settings › Memory from your name at the foot of the rail.
- 1 Add memory — write one yourself.
- 2 Who can see your memories.
- 3 Search the text of a note.
- 4 Filed under — narrow by where a memory is filed.
- 5 No longer used — show replaced, forgotten or expired notes.
- 6 One group per agent — one agent’s note reaches no other.
- 7 Where it’s filed, when it was added, and the conversation it came from.
- 8 Edit and delete.
- 9 Memory off for this agent — what it saved is kept.
Add a memory
Add memory writes a note yourself. The window stays open until the note is saved, and says why if it could not be.
Reading the list
Memory is per agent and the screen groups by agent; one agent’s note reaches no other. Once you have a memory, the page counts your Memories, the Agents holding them, and their Visibility.
| A group says | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Remembering | The agent is saving new memories. |
| Memory off | The agent has memory switched off; what it saved is kept. |
| Shared | Notes no single agent owns. |
| Agent removed | The agent is gone; its memories stay visible and it stops using them. |
- Each note says where it is filed (Only you, or a knowledge base’s name), when it was added and, when an agent picked it up in chat, links to the conversation it came from. Edit and delete sit beside it.
- A memory that also names a conversation is held for that thread only.
- The search box matches the text of a note, and Filed under narrows by where a memory is filed.
- A memory that was replaced, forgotten or expired is hidden from the list. Switching on No longer used brings those back into view, each marked Replaced, Forgotten or Expired.
Clear everything
Clear all asks first, then deletes every one of your own memories and reports how many went. Memories filed under a shared knowledge base are kept, and your conversations stay as they are.
Whether an agent remembers at all is set in its builder, under Chat experience › Remember things between conversations — see Building an agent.
